Stage craft/ Visual theatre
Dennis Clare has worked extensively throughout Australia and overseas, receiving mime training in America under the guidance of Reid Gilbert, founder of the Valley Studio, Wisconsin Mime Theatre, and administrator of International Mimes and Pantomimes.
Whilst in America Dennis also collaborated with professional dancers and continues to work with several other art forms.
Dennis emerges as one of the best in his chosen field, he regularly performs for the Art Gallery of NSW as part of their public program, a relationship that spans nearly two decades creating several works commissioned by the gallery.
With fellow artist Tony Williams they from the comedy duo Carpe Idiotus their brand of comedy has received world wide attention and are sought after by festivals, tv programmers and Corporate event organizers through out the globe. http://www.wcp.net.au/

During Faith and the Arts 2012 Dennis will be share his skills in Stage craft & Visual Theatre. (and possibly mime if there is a demand)
He will working with the performing artists at various times during the week in the following electives: Music, Drama, Dance & Clowning, and running a separate elective for those that want to concentrate on Visual Theater and Stagecraft for the whole week. You wont go away disappointed, there is heaps to learn and great skills and insights that will get you well on your way in the performing world.
Stagecraft:
This explores the fundamental elements of the relationship between audience and the actors and the actors responsibility to the audience. It also explores the relationship of the actor and theatre space , and the actor’s embodiment of dialog and movement. It will also explore the areas of nonverbal communication and dialog.
Visual Theatre
This incorporates use of masks, body bags and an apparatus known as the slinky.
It is fun interactive and a very hands on experience for participants, discovering the wonder and delight in creating visual theatre with just the use of the body.
