Poatina Arts’ networks have a lot to gain, and a lot to lose this month.

Local artists are working hard to raise the large amounts of money needed to purchase some of the facilities that have housed our transformational programs for decades.  We’re not fundraising experts, but we’re passionate about our people, our programs and our facilities.

Now we need you to pitch in.  At the very least, help us spread the word.  But maybe you can do more.

We have donations of $25,000 towards a deposit and need commitments of $300,000 by the end of October to register a viable expression of interest for the former Poatina School property.  These buildings can house studios for a range of artforms and be renovated to fit large gatherings no longer possible in the (now repurposed) community hall.

Many of you have seen or been part of this thriving hive of inspired creativity. So much so that you’re probably as familiar as we are with the glowing feedback received by so many workshop participants, artists in residence, emerging and established artists, and members of the public. The Ausglass conference last year had our facilities totally full and buzzing.
