Arts Gatherings

Our in-person and online gatherings are a relaxed forum in which to share our creative journeys with each other.  Local artists and those who've connected through our many events spend an encouraging evening together once a month.  It's one of the ways we can stay connected and be enriched by each other.

Exhibition Program

The Poatina Tree Art Gallery exhibition program features both local artists and those connected to Poatina in other ways such as through our Artist in Residence Programs or annual FATA Summer School event.  Solo, group and community exhibitions run year-round, generally for 8 weeks at a time and proposals are welcome.

FATA Network

Every January Poatina draws creative people from around Australia to facilitate, learn, grow and be inspired together at our annual faith-based Summer School.  Connections are made, strengthened and celebrated as old and young share inspiration, stories, and art-making.  These connections continue throughout the year and provide encouragement, fellowship and a sense that we're part of something bigger than ourselves.

Haiku Project

Discover 32 beautifully written Haiku poems, decorating the streetlights in the village, written by local poet and resident Di Adams.  These whimsical poems often interplay with location or natural surroundings.  The streetlights are a part of Poatina history, as this was was the first town in Australia to receive its household power via underground cables instead of overhead lines.
